COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Tadelakt is ideal for bathrooms, shower walls, steam rooms, splashbacks, fireplaces, and feature walls.
Tadelakt is a lime-based plaster made with natural hydraulic lime and pigments. It’s polished with olive soap and a stone to create a sealed surface.
Typically 3–6 days, depending on the number of layers, curing time, and surface complexity.
Tadelakt is water resistant once sealed with olive soap. Suitable for wet zones but not for areas with standing water (e.g. shower trays).
Tadelakt is flexible and durable, but small hairline cracks can occur, especially on unstable substrates or with impact.
Minor damage can often be easily repaired, more extensive damage will require reapplication of the full system.
It benefits from occasional reapplication of olive soap to maintain water resistance. Clean with mild soap and avoid chemicals.
Can be tinted with a range of pigments and applied in varying levels of sheen and smoothness. Each application is bespoke.
AFTERCARE
Use mild, natural soap (preferably olive soap) and a soft cloth or sponge. Never use chemical cleaners or abrasives.
Reapply olive soap periodically to maintain water resistance and surface sheen. Ensure wet areas are well ventilated.
Tadelakt can stain if exposed to strong dyes, oils, or acidic products. Clean up spills immediately and avoid harsh scrubbing.
Apply soap treatment every 6–12 months in wet areas. With proper care, Tadelakt develops a natural patina that enhances over time.
